Last month the NZPIF held a communication meeting in Wellington for all affiliated Property Investor Associations around the country. This is an annual event and a marvellous opportunity the us to tell the PIA’s what we are doing, hear what they would like us to do and also share information among themselves on how to make their associations better for their members.
As many PIA Members around the country don’t have direct access to the NZPIF, I thought you would like to hear what we do and how we benefit you as a member of your local PIA.
The NZPIF’s purpose can be summarised through four main Tasks:
On the last point, I would like to thank our National Sponsor, ANZ Bank, for supporting the NZPIF and providing members with discounted funding to help there profitability. It is also very pleasing to have KCL Property on board for another year. Members can take advantage of the special offers KCL make from time-to-time to purchase brand new rental properties to expand their portfolios.
These sponsors greatly enhance what the NZPIF can achieve for our industry, and reduce our dependence on Association members’ affiliation fees. This is an area we intend to build on, as it provides membership benefits while securing the NZPIF’s financial position.
So it was with great pleasure that Executive member Cliff Seque was able to announce at the Wellington meeting that he had secured a fantastic discount deal for members with Bunnings. To access discounts on Bunnings already sharp prices, just present your NZPIF membership card and quote the reference number 222281.
We hope to announce another major discount for members through a huge national organisation next month. Cliff has also updated the list of NZPIF discounts available to members and this will be made available soon. You can also see available discounts on the website at www.nzpif.org.nz.
Everyone on the NZPIF Executive has put a tremendous effort into cost savings. Our Treasurer, Tania Elwood, presented our latest financial accounts and was pleased to tell Associations that the deficits of the last few years are to be reversed with a small excess of income over expenditure this year.
Otago PIA gave associations’ an update on this year’s conference which is to be held in spectacular Queenstown. Many of those who enjoyed last year’s conference in the Marlborough wine country are looking forward to a tax deductible trip to New Zealand’s winter wonderland. This is an opportunity that will not come again for many years, so I encourage those who haven’t signed up to attend to get onto it. You can still obtain good prices on flights.
It was good to see Associations attendees in such good spirits, looking forward to implementing many of the thoughts and ideas that they learned on the day and add even more value to their membership benefits.
